Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms of Service (이용약관) set out the conditions and procedures for using the AI-based translation service (the "Service") provided by Linchpin AI (the "Company"), as well as the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of the Company and its users.

Article 2 (Sign-up and Account Management)

  • Users may apply for sign-up after agreeing to these Terms, following the procedure set by the Company.
  • The Company will, in principle, accept applications, but may decline acceptance in cases such as identity misuse, false information, or a history of violating these Terms.
  • Users may not allow third parties to use their account.
  • Account management is the user's responsibility, and the Company is not liable for damage caused by user negligence.

Article 3 (Credit Top-ups and Refunds)

  • The Service operates on a pay-as-you-go basis using prepaid credits.
  • Payments are processed through TossPayments.
  • Topped-up credits do not expire and remain usable for as long as the account is active.

Refund policy

  • Unused top-ups: Within 7 days of the top-up date, a full refund is available if no credits from that top-up have been used.
  • Partially used top-ups (remaining credits): Within 7 days of the top-up date, the remaining balance after deducting the value of credits already used can be refunded.
  • Used translation credits: Credits already spent on translations are treated as digital content that has been delivered and are non-refundable.
  • How to request a refund: Go to My Page → Payment History and click the [Request refund] button shown on each refundable top-up.
  • Processing: After a request is submitted, refunds are reviewed within 1–3 business days and returned to the original payment method.

Article 4 (Copyright in Translation Output)

  • The user, or the rightful copyright holder, retains copyright in source files uploaded by the user.
  • The Company holds a non-exclusive license to use uploaded content to the extent necessary to provide the Service (translation processing, storage, backup, and result display). This license terminates when the member withdraws or the file is deleted.
  • Copyright in translation output produced through the Service belongs to the user.
  • The Company asserts no rights over the translation output, and users may freely use, modify, and distribute it.

Article 5 (Restrictions on Service Use)

Use of the Service may be restricted in the following cases:

  • Translating content that infringes others' rights or damages their reputation
  • Obscene, violent, or discriminatory content
  • Content that infringes copyright
  • Illegal information or crime-related content
  • Acts that interfere with normal Service operation

If a violation is confirmed, the Company will, in principle, give prior notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue. However, in the case of serious grounds such as violation of law, infringement of others' rights, or interference with Service operation, the Company may suspend or terminate the account immediately without prior notice.

Article 6 (Personal Data)

The handling of users' personal data is governed by the separate Privacy Policy (개인정보처리방침).

Article 7 (Service Changes and Suspension)

  • The Company may change Service contents to ensure stable provision of the Service.
  • The Company may temporarily suspend the Service for unavoidable reasons such as system maintenance, force majeure, or technical issues.
  • Material changes will be announced in advance.

Article 8 (Disclaimer)

  • Due to the nature of AI-based translation, the Company does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of translation output.
  • Users must review translation output before relying on it.
  • The Company is not liable for damages caused by force majeure events such as natural disasters or communication failures.
  • Legal disputes arising from content uploaded by the user are the user's own responsibility.

Article 9 (Dispute Resolution and Jurisdiction)

  • These Terms are interpreted and applied under the laws of the Republic of Korea.
  • If a dispute arises in connection with the use of the Service, both parties shall make good-faith efforts to resolve it amicably through consultation.
  • If consultation fails and a lawsuit is filed, the Seoul Southern District Court (서울남부지방법원), which has jurisdiction over the Company's principal place of business, shall be the court of first instance.
  • However, where the Framework Act on Consumers (소비자기본법) or other related laws recognize a court of jurisdiction more favorable to the consumer, that court shall apply.

Article 10 (Effective Date)

These Terms take effect on January 1, 2026.
